The lab celebrates Kaar and Emmy, who will be joining George Washington University and University of Tennessee-Knoxville, respectively, to start PhD programs. Kaar is working with Dr.Sandy Kawano, focusing on the salamander and fish biomechanics. Emmy will be earning her PhD with Dr. Liz Derryberry and Dr. Kimberly Sheldon, focusing on behavioral plasticity. Emmy also received UTK’s Dean Fellowship! Congrats!
Julia Advanced to Candidacy!Congratulations to Julia for passing her prospectives and advancing into candidacy! Congrats, Candidate Julia! Julia will be working on providing a mechanistic framework for the relationship between microhabitat use and the evolution of macro climatic niches in anurans. New Publication Alert
Congratulations to PhD candidate, Brooke Bodensteiner, who won grants from the Yale Institute for Biospheric Studies and the MacMillan Center to support her dissertation research! Brooke will be working on the thermal physiology and evolution of Australian reptiles.
The Muñoz Lab in the Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology at Yale University is seeking to hire a postdoctoral researcher. The postdoc will be hired under the auspices of a NSF grant to study the ecophysiology, spatial ecology, and evolution of lungless salamanders. This is a collaborative project with Dr. Eric Riddell (Iowa State University). We are open to different types of backgrounds and interests including, but not limited to: amphibian ecology and evolution, ecophysiology, spatial ecology and biophysical modeling, and comparative phylogenetics. The position is for 2-3 years, with annual reappointment. See full ad, with link for the application, on the "Opportunities" tab on this website.
We are seeking an undergraduate student for an REU position this summer! The successful applicant will be working on ecophysiology and evolution of terrestrial lungless salamanders. Check out the Opportunities page for more!
We extend a huge welcome to Dr. Laura Alencar who joins us as Post-Doctoral researcher. Laura was previously a post-doc at Clemson University and studies the macroevolution and macroecology of vertebrates. Check out her page to learn more!
Congratulations to Brooke for passing her qualifying exams and advancing into candidacy! Congrats, Candidate Brooke! And to continue the celebrations, Brooke also recently published a new paper with co-authors in Journal of Experimental Biology evaluating thermal-metabolic phenotypes of the common wall lizard across elevations. Check out the Publications page for more information! Well done, Brooke.
