Diversity and Inclusion in STEM
The fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) have long lacked diversity, reflecting a long history of exclusion. Addressing inequity is a moral imperative and expands the excellence of our science, but it requires continued commitment from scientists. To foster a climate of inclusivity and mutual respect in the lab and beyond, the Muñoz lab affirms its responsibility to educate, train, and provide outreach. We are committed to educating ourselves and others about the issues surrounding diversity in STEM. We are also committed to combatting problems like bias and prejudice, and contributing to efforts that seek to improve diversity, inclusion, and equity in our lab, our department, our university, and our field.
