Dr. Raúl Araya-Donoso
Raúl joined the lab as a postdoctoral research in 2025. He is interested in the differential patterns of species richness that occur in nature. His research aims to identify the relative role of extrinsic and intrinsic factors on shaping the evolutionary history of a lineage. In particular, he combines genomic and ecological data at micro and macroevolutionary scales to gain insight into the mechanisms that could influence a lineage undergoing a process of radiation or not, primarily focusing on Pleurodont lizards as a study system.
